Already over the brief whiff of summer we’re having? Well, now you can skip to Christmas as a festive bar is popping up in the City this August. DesignMyNight is opening The Mistletoe Mixer at Merchant House, hidden behind a secret toilet door, for two weeks this summer, complete with over-the-top kitsch festive decor, a bespoke seasonal cocktail menu and a Christmas playlist featuring the likes of Shakin’ Stevens, Wham! and Slade.
The Merchant House team will be shaking up holiday-themed cocktails too, like the Keep Your Change, Ya Filthy Flip! (an eggnog-style serve garnished with a toasted marshmallow), the It’s a Beaut, Clark! It’s a Flute (a candy cane-topped Champagne creation), the Fraa-jeel-aay! It Must Be Italian! (a negroni-style drink infused with rosemary and juniper) and the It’s Because I’m Green, Isn’t It? (a spiced apple and ginger rum highball). Can’t wait until December to get into the spirit?
