Various locations of events.
Near Stockholm in Sweden we see girls and women being trained as land girls on a farm. A man instructs them as they learn how to drive a tractor.
In the Carpathian Mountains, Rumania, we see various shots of men transporting hay up the snowy mountains by horse-drawn sleighs so that deer on the high ground can be fed.
At Capetown, South Africa, we see excavation work taking place before the construction of a new £6 million harbour. Huge dredgers scoop silt from the bottom of the bay which is transferred to barges and dumped in areas that won’t affect the building or passing ships.
