Detoxing at Aesthetics Lab in Belgravia

This medispa is about relaxation as well as results

Founded by Marsha, Tania, and Kristina, Aesthetics Lab expanded from its original Primrose Hill site into Belgravia about two years ago, becoming the first clinic to open in the area. One trip down for a treatment and it’s easy to see why Aesthetics Lab was given the green light to join the neighbourhood – it delivers the luxury vibe you’d want from a high-end spa or salon and it also delivers proper results.

Aesthetics Lab specialises in cutting-edge, non-surgical treatments with everything from fat freezing to vampire facials on offer. After nothing more extreme than a thorough clean, I opted for one of their in-house treatments, the ALab Detox Facial, which was done with cosmeceutical products from Dermaquest.

Following a thorough double cleanse, my aesthetician applied lactic acid and then used a crystal-free microdermabrasion tool to really get rid of all that dead skin. This was gentler than the suction you’d get from a HydraFacial, typically my facial of choice, but no less effective, and she finished off the detox part of the treatment with some manual extraction.

Then there was a focus on improving skin firmness and muscle tone with lymphatic drainage, gua sha, and a neck, shoulder and scalp massage, before some LED light therapy to calm any inflammation (with an arm massage whilst under the light). A swipe of eye cream and SPF, and it was back out into the Belgravia sunshine feeling relaxed and looking revitalised.
