Seven years after calling it quits, Rebecca Gayheart has reconsidered her divorce from Eric Dane.
The 53-year-old model and actress requested a dismissal of her 2018 petition to end her marriage on Wednesday, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The couple were married in 2004, and share two children: Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.
In her initial filing, Gayheart cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of her divorce from the former “Grey’s Anatomy” heartthrob. She also sought spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of their two daughters.
“After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family,” Dane, 52, said in a statement at the time. “We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us.”
According to US Weekly, the estranged couple — who reportedly got hitched just 10 months after dating — never reached a divorce settlement.
“We’re doing our best. It isn’t easy,” Gayheart told the outlet in October 2018 about their co-parenting. “But we are trying and we are committed.”
“I think that as a female you need to be able to always take care of yourself and never depend on a man,” she added. “I’m going back to work and I think it’s partly because I want my daughters to see me work. I took some time off to have my kids.”
In 2022, Gayheart shared photos on Instagram of Dane enjoying their family vacation throughout Europe.
