There’s more to a martini than just gin and vermouth
Little Bat, founded by Richard Wynne and the team behind Callooh Callay, has been shaking things up in Islington since 2016. Known for creative cocktails and a buzzy atmosphere, the bar also serves up a restaurant menu by James Cochran, featuring globally inspired dishes made with British produce.
One thing Little Bat has down to a fine art is the martini and at this hands-on masterclass, you can learn how to make the cocktail of the moment exactly right. Taking place on Sat 11th October, the two-hour session will guide you through three different martini styles, like a classic dry, a dirty, and either a wet or a Gibson depending on your mood. You’ll learn all the fundamentals, from stirring and dilution to garnish prep and vermouth ratios, while working out whether you’re a bone-dry purist, an extra dirty fan, or a freezer-batched convert.
It’s designed to be fun and informal but with plenty of take-home knowledge, so you’ll come away confident enough to shake up (or stir down) your own martinis at home.
INSIDERS can get tickets for this masterclass for £30 (these normally start at £50+) and with just 15 spots available it’ll sell out fast. If you’re not a member yet, sign up below for just £2 a month.
