Chicago Fire – Ghosts – Review : Did He Get Out?

This episode was completely jam packed full of different things, but it had quite a heavy focus on Sal and developing the backstory of his relationship with his dad. I quite liked the fact that Kidd found out about his dad being in prison. It was time for her to learn a little bit more about her new recruit. Sal’s dad is such an ugly human being, I actually feel being in prison is the best place for him, especially for Vasquez. After that threat from his father to get him out of prison, he really doesn’t need him out terrorising his life.

I am very glad that they have continued to shine a light on how the house fire is affecting the Herrmann’s. We are finally getting more Mouch and Herrmann scenes this season after their friendship being pushed back slightly. I loved Herrmann watching Mouch make his speech at the ‘pass the boot’ fundraiser. Such a small moment but it was filled with so much affection and gratitude.

Stella Kidd is truly the boss of the show. She said it herself “the name speaks for itself”. I love seeing Miranda do her thing on screen every week, but Stella seriously needs a break. First episode she loses a child, second she starts fostering a teenager, third episode she struggles to connect with him, fourth Isaiah is struggling and that weighs on her, and then this episode she passes out on a call.

Chicago Fire is a very unique show in general but one of my favourite things is that they actually show the hazmat team washing down the firefighters. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in another show.

I think I might have said this a lot this season, but I am so glad we are finally getting to see Cruz a lot more this season, he’s been so funny and his golf costume for the Halloween party made me laugh a lot.
