Zapote is running a corn menu for harvest season

Corn is a central part of the operation at Zapote in Shoreditch; chef Yahir Gonzalez’s family has farmed corn for generations at their ranch in Jalisco and having this as a source has allowed him and co-founder Tony Geary to showcase different varieties of Mexican corn at the restaurant. The tortillas at Zapote are made fresh daily using corn from Jalisco and feature across the menu as soft tortillas, tostadas, totopos and more.

For harvest season, the Zapote team is celebrating corn in all its glory with the Ode to Corn menu, which features dishes like:

  • roasted corn with recado negro
  • hand-dived scallop ceviche with persimmon and grilled sweetcorn
  • sea bream aguachile with salsa macha, fennel and totopos
  • suckling pig, red cabbage and ancho chilli taco
  • grilled bone marrow, beef tartare and heritage blue corn tortillas
  • mini doughnut with vanilla cream and caramel popcorn
  • sweetcorn mousse with coffee mezcal ganache

There’s even a Chamoy and corn-spiced mezcal Paloma on the cocktail list too. It’s only running until 28th October, so be quick if you wanna try it.
