Jameela Jamil’s #MoveForYourMind festival is returning

The body positivity festival returns this January

Following the success of last year’s breakthrough #MoveForYourMind festival, the body-positivity event will return to London this January, with additional dates and increased capacity due to high demand. The event proudly rejects the “New Year, New Me” rhetoric, prioritising wellness, self-worth, and mental health improvement over aesthetics and thinness – a societal pressure that often has negative impacts on self-esteem.

The British actress, presenter, activist, and founder of the #MoveForYourMind festival, Jameela Jamil, has long been an advocate for the body-positive movement. Speaking specifically about the challenges associated with focusing on fitness aesthetics, she says: “It is disgusting that vanity has taken over exercise, and that you’re made to feel like you have to show up thin and toned in revealing clothes just to exercise. We need to take exercise back.”

In response to this, the two-day festival will offer attendees the chance to engage in a series of inspirational panel discussions and fireside chats, addressing sensitive topics such as eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and diet culture, all within a supportive and empowering environment.

Expect a range of exciting, mood-boosting movement sessions, including disco dance classes, ‘twerkshops’ and yin-yoga throughout the day, in addition to tasty snacks and a happy hour social to close the day. If this sounds like a bit of you, tickets are available to book now.
