There’s potential of a third heat wave this summer, and it quite possibly has already begun.
Temperatures turned up to 90 degrees in Central Park on Sunday, which could be the start to the tri-state’s third heat wave in three months.
A fresh heat wave is not a guarantee for our area this week, however, because high temperatures are hovering just around 90 degrees for the next several days. Any one day with a high temperature that falls a degree or two short would keep us from an official designation.
But as we all know — we’ll be sweating either way.
A bright spot in this week’s forecast is the humidity. The humidity isn’t projected to be too bad at the start — it’ll get worse for us by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures and humidity peak on Wednesday, which will also usher in a chance of storms. Once we get on the other side of Wednesday, conditions will start to improve slightly.
