Police are investigating after partial human remains were found near a busy Queens shopping center.
A skull and other bones were discovered just before 4 p.m. Monday along 20th Avenue near 132nd Street in College Point, according to police. The investigation has focused on a wooded area across the street from a shopping complex with a number of big box stores.
It was not immediately clear whether police were handling it as a criminal investigation. The medical examiner is working to determine a cause of death for the individual, who has not yet been identified.
