Authorities and sources say they have arrested and charged a woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death inside her Brooklyn home Saturday in what she claims was self-defense.
According to police sources, 36-year-old Jennifer Ayala was charged during the early hours of Sunday with two counts of assault, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. She had allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Pedersin Pelissier of Fort Greene, also 36, following an argument.
The pair had been inside Ayala’s East Flatbush home located at 333 Linden Blvd. when she called 911 at just after 7: a.m. reporting that a man had been stabbed inside. When cops from the 67th Precinct arrived, sources familiar with the investigation say they found Pelissier with multiple stab wounds to the chest on the floor of the apartment and Ayala begging for him to be revived.
EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Ayala was taken into custody at the scene. Sources report that Ayala claimed that she stabbed him to protect herself.
Police have yet to comment on exactly what sparked the domestic dispute.
