One for all the Japanophiles. Yokimono Market – the Japan-themed food and craft market that’s been running since 2019 (yokimono means “good things”) – is back with its Annual Autumn Sale in Dalston on 7th-8th November. It brings together over 30 independent Japanese makers, designers and food businesses each day, many of whom rarely discount, for a rare chance to pick things up at special otoku (great deal) prices.
Expect beautiful handmade ceramics, jewellery, vintage kimono, stationery, prints and crafts, with sample pieces and surplus stock going for a song alongside the regular collections. On the food front there’s plenty to graze on – sushi, oden and teriyaki chicken, mochi, cakes and Japanese-flavoured ice cream, plus speciality matcha and hojicha teas, new exclusive menus and free samples throughout. Entry is free, it’s family-friendly, and dogs on leads are welcome too.
