Following months of speculation on the status of their relationship, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially called it quits after nine years.
People confirmed the breakup on Thursday, days after reports that Bloom was planning to make his “debut as a single man” at the Jeff Bezos/Lauren Sanchez wedding in Italy this week.
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source told Us Weekly. “It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

The pair, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, have had an up-and-down relationship since they first began dating in early 2016. They took a break a year later before reconciling in 2018. They’ve been engaged since Valentine’s Day 2019.
During a 2024 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Perry revealed that couples therapy helped her and Bloom strengthen their relationship to become the best parents they could be for Daisy.
“We do a lot of couples therapy and we want to evolve,” the Blue Origin space traveler said. “That’s, I think, why we’re in our relationship is to become better humans so that we can raise this beautiful human being.”
The couple were initially set to exchange vows in Japan in the early summer of 2020, but those plans were jettisoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Perry was previously married to controversial comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012. Their 14-month union ended after he allegedly texted her to say their marriage was done.
Bloom, meanwhile, was married for three years to model Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares 14-year-old son Flynn.
