The palatial mansion once owned by Terry Goodkind — the late novelist behind the best-selling fantasy series, “The Sword of Truth” — is headed to auction later this month.

The estate is located 27 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip, just a couple of miles from the Hoover Dam in the small town of Boulder City.

It comprises two adjoining properties. The 6,455 square-foot main house has three bedrooms and four bathrooms, while a 1,712 square-foot guest house — with a private bedroom and two-room bath overlooking a koi pond — served as the author’s writing parlor. It was here that Goodkind penned his 2009 thriller, “The Law of Nines.”

The living quarters are surrounded by walking trails built by Goodkind on 3.76 acres of isolated desert property.

Goodkind purchased the gated estate for $1.38 million in 2002. He died there in September 2020 at age 72. His cause of death was never released.

The estate will be auctioned, without reserve, by the Sotheby’s-owned real-estate firm Concierge Auctions from March 29 to April 11. The opening bid is expected to be between $2-$3 million, according to Amber Bartholomew of Desert Sun Realty, who placed the listing.

Bartholomew listed the estate for $5 million in 2022. Its priced was reduced to $4.3 million late last year.

Goodkind’s “Sword of Truth” series sold 25 million books worldwide and was adapted into a television series, “Legend of the Seeker,” which ran from 2008-2010 on ABC-TV.
