Meta shared two significant updates for its Edits video editing app, with a new version of the platform designed for the folding screen of the iPhone Duo, and a new look at its upcoming desktop version of the app.
First, Meta announced that a dedicated iPhone Duo version of Edits is now available. This update taps into the unique presentation values of the latest Apple device.

The UI of the Duo version of Edits can be translated into different formats, utilizing the variable orientation of the device.

As explained by Meta: “With a larger, adaptive screen, you can edit and preview your timeline side by side for more flexibility in how you create. Edits adapts to the screen and crease, so you can keep creating in the position that feels right.”
On another front, creator Taylor Golub shared a screenshot of the new Edits desktop app, which is currently in testing with some users.

As shown in this image, the desktop alignment enables users to oversee more editing elements on a single screen, which will make it easier to integrate the various creation functions of the app.
Meta announced the upcoming desktop version of the platform in June, and selected creators are now able to use a live version.
In a comment on Golub’s post, Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri said he expects the desktop version of Edits to become “a foundation for a lot of interesting features to come.”
